Weekend Intensive: Friday - Sunday July 21-23, 2006 - Workshop begins Friday at 6:30 pm and concludes Sunday at 4:30 pm.

In this workshop we will look at the many ways that we can access an awareness of our own wisdom mind. When our yoga practice is driven by ambition or fears we tend to repeat the habits which govern other aspects of our waking life. By moving the senses toward silence and stillness in the keystone practice of pratyahara we learn to let our primary attention in practice be on this dynamic ground of being. As we become more adept at establishing and sustaining this concentration, our practice of yoga can be guided from a deep inner wisdom. Find new ways of practicing that are deeply nourishing and supportive of our unique spiritual path. Classes will include guided movement inquiry, intensive asana practice, sitting meditation, restoratives and yoga nidra. Suitable for those with at least one year of consistent yoga practice up to teacher level.

Weekday Clinics: Clinics begin at 12:30 pm and end at 3:30 pm.
Monday July 24, 2006
Sequential Flow: Learn to initiate impulse from the ground and allow this force to move unimpeded as we rediscover the organic origins of asana. Class will begin with a guided developmental movement inquiry followed by intensive practice of slow vinyasana.

Tuesday July 25, 2006
Coming Together – The Sacro-Iliac Joint: As the conduit for force between the legs and torso, and the meeting point of the pelvis and spine, the sacro-iliac jointes are a crucial juncture point in the body. We will explore the anatomy, kinesiology and correct function of this joint in standing postures, back bends, forward bends and twists.

Wednesday July 26, 2006
Unbroken Flow – The Practice of Dhyana: Through bringing our awareness to the moment-to-moment formation of movement we cultivate a continuous thread of awareness. As we stay “inside the breath” we experience new joyfulness in our practice, regardless of how far or how deeply we move physically into a posture. Through being willing to meet ourselves just as we are we will discover that this is the most “advanced” place we can possibly inhabit and the one that opens us to change and transformation. This is a slow yet challenging vinyasana series suitable for those with at least two years of yoga experience.
